Mother tongue in international schools

Increasing mobility of people implies an increasing number of students who start mastering two or more languages.

Some international schools offer Mother Tongue classes to assist students from various language backgrounds. In that environment, students begin to acquire the second language as soon as they enter an international school; in contrast, their mother tongue development tends to be neglected. Students who follow an international curriculum learn at least two languages but the lack of sufficient knowledge of their mother tongue impacts in their development of literacy and their academic achievement in general.

In this vision, Le Lab delivers mother tongue class lessons since 2015, from G5 to G12 at various International School in Singapore. We have faithful collaborations with Tanglin Trust School and UWCSEA East Campus for the Mother Tongue Programme with outstanding exam results.
